The ROUGH BUT SWEET SOUND SYSTEM was founded in
1989, in London, England by its owner/DJ Mikey D and
have played at the Notting Hill Carnival every year
since their inception (Conlan
Street off East Row). They have
entertained all over the UK and
internationally
alongside
Pow Pow
&
Gentleman
in Germany, the One Love Sound system in Italy and they have also
performed in Jamaica.
The ROUGH BUT SWEET SOUND SYSTEM rig was used for
the World Sound Clash Link Up in 1997 & has expanded
it’s bombastic power every year. An extensive
collection of music has been built up from classic
reggae and dub to ragga and dancehall, from soul and
swing to calypso and garage.
With good Caribbean island connections they also have plenty
of original dub plates from artists such as Sizzla,
Vybz, Gregory Isaacs, Capleton, Beenie Man, C'ecile
& Denis Brown.
They are available for parties, weddings, house
parties, christenings and sound clashes. 'Nothing
stops us from keeping the crowd going every time'
they say.
So, if you want a big treat,
make
sure you book-
