Mellotone are a unique sound comprising of two female D.J’s, Julie Henry (DJ Night nurse) and Marilyn Dennis (Lady Banton). They have been together for 17 years and have been operating their Sound System at the Notting Hill Carnival since 1994. They play at numerous functions and parties in London, as well as having had various sound clashes and night club dates. Their Carnival showcase often involves performances from young talent and other guest appearances alongside a musical style of Reggae, Ragga, Revival, Swing and Soul.

‘We came up with this concept because we feel that women are in fact under represented on the female music circuit’.
