This
native Londoner started DJing while still at school
and had his first professional gig at Jean Pieres In
Greek street back in 1979. From there he started his
first residency alongside his brother Mel, DJing at
one of London's premiere gay nights The Lift from
1981 to 1986. It was while DJing at The Lift that
Keith KCC was introduced to house music. When The
Lift finally ended Keith KCC secured a residency at
London's infamous Wag Club alongside Mark Moore from
S-Express.
Keith KCC also started DJing at some of London's
pirate radio stations and met up with Kid Batchelor
& Lesley Lawrence and formed the infamous Bang The
Party, around Christmas 1986, releasing two singles,
Jaques Theme & Release Your Body
before leaving in the middle of album to form SLF
producing one of England's first Acid House tracks,
Show Me Wot You Got.
Keith KCC was also busy on the warehouse party scene
at the time playing at all the Translantic warehouse
parties alongside people like Robert Owens, Harvey,
Andrew Weatherhall, Mr C, Colin Favour, etc.
By now Keith had secured another residency at
London's Melange club, alongside LTJ Bukem, which
ran for about 3 years. As well as DJing and
producing music Keith KCC started working as a sound
engineer/ programmer and worked with the likes of
Shut Up And Dance, Femi Kuti, Rose Windross (Soul to
Soul), Dj Hype, Double Trouble, Derrick May and many
others.
Keith KCC has gone on to remix tracks for the likes
of Whitney Houston, Sounds of Blackness, Ann Nesby
and Marshall Jefferson's Rock Your Body. Boris
Dulugosh , Kenny Thomas, Catch a Groove, Known Chic
- I Love New York.
Forever busy on the DJ front, Keith has been touring
Europe continuously for the past 15 years, playing
at some of Europe's premiere clubs. In 1992 Keith
produced two tracks for Azuli records: Groove
Thing and Heaven.
Keith KCC and with his brother Mel started their own
club - KCC club - as well as holding down
residencies at London's Fierce Child alongside
Smokin Joe, Danny Rampling and Princess Julia.
From here Keith KCC started doing England's club
circuit playing at all the big clubs, Ministry of
Sound, etc.
In 1991 Keith & his Brother Mel formed the
KCCsoundsystem and became one of the biggest
attractions at the the Notting Hill Carnival. The
KCC site has now become a bit of an institution,
attracting the largest crowd ever for a sound system
as well as international DJ's from around the world,
such as DJ Disciple, Roger Sanchez, Mousse T, Pete
Heller, Matt Jam Lamont, Dj Spoony, etc.
In 1995 KCC won the BASS "Best Alternative Sound
System" Award. Between 1997-98 Keith KCC Joined the
Nice & Ripe stable of labels and released about 6
Eps, alongside artist such as Ty Holden & Jeremy
Slyvester.
Over the years Keith KCC has done Mix shows for many
radio stations including Kiss Fm, Galaxy Fm, Paris
FG, Skyrock, Girls FM, Unknown FM and numerous
pirate stations.
Keith KCC has held numerous residencies over the
years, and at the moment KCC can be found at EGG and
AKA Bar in London.
