About

Formed in 1982, the simplest definition for GT Flex Roadshow/Mayhem Crew is ....5 DJ’s and 3  MC's dropping the very best in RnB, Hip Hop, Reggae, DanceHall, Soca and Party Classics. However ... that is the simplest definition. The crew as a Sound System is a much deeper and more involved unit. These 8 hard working entertainers have the ability to change atmospheres, influence dances and adjust moods. Whether the day needs to be kick-started or the next level needs to be reached, the GT Flex Roadshow/Mayhem Crew have the skills, experience and firepower at their disposal to please both young, old and everyone in between. Words like WICKED, LIVELY, VIBES and HYPE are not used lightly by the crew. Instead these words are used when assessing and analysing their own performances at carnival.  Anything other than a ‘hype’ party with a nice and decent crowd producing a hectic vibe is simply not good enough for these Carnival specialists.

Even though every other crew or DJ may have the same records, the GT Flex Roadshow/Mayhem Crew stamp is always guaranteed to be unique, direct and different. The crew oozes creativity, diversity and determination - all of which help set them apart from other sounds as they span over 35 years of playing ‘Sound’.  The fusion between the two generations of sound system explains the diversity of crew, with the GT Flex Roadshow building the original set and Mayhem Crew taking it into the new millennium and the digital age. With the DJ’s spinning the tunes, the Mc’s are as creative as they come.  There have been countless times at Carnival when the mic hosts have produced a new flow, dance or a new idea that rocks and shocks the crowd. What makes this even more interesting is their antics are 100 % dynamic and made up on the spot…Just absorbing the energy of the Carnival…because participation is the key!!

In essence the GT Flex Roadshow/Mayhem Crew regularly bring nothing but a house party vibe, a hype feeling and leave with nothing but happy ravers , good atmosphere and total love ........ all which is best summed up as ......The only way we know how to “Play Carnival”.
