4-Play was established in 1990 and first
entertained at the Notting Hill Carnival in
1994. They have had a
continued presence with
guest PAs and DJs over the years, also playing
at the Panorama Night for
Notting Hill Carnival
and at the Birmingham Carnival as special
guests.

Angel, Senator Lea, Major Lea, Dave B and Baby
M.
The beginning
Members of 4-Play were influenced by
listening to music played by their parents or at
family party functions. This inspired them to
collect music and play at private functions as
well as part of a sound system.
The
early to mid 1980's
As a youngster DJ Angel played at house
parties and organised school dances. Dave B
played solo at private parties
and as part of a
sound
system. Senator Lea also played at private
parties and Major Lea played with a group of
friends called Rags Fraternity at private
functions. Baby M built up a collection of
music
over the years.
Angel and Baby M went on to join forces and
formed the sound Trick and Treat with Dave B
joining them in 1989. In 1990 Major Lea played
at various events with Trick and
Treat which led
to the birth of 4-PLAY sound. Senator Lea joined
in 1994 and added MC as well as his DJ skills to
complete the 4-PLAY sound.
 4-PLAY has built up a reputaion as a 'Party
Sound' that plays a broad range of music in
keeping with ever changing trends. Their sets
include RnB, Rare Grooves, Jazz-Funk, Old
Skool, Jungle, Funky House, Reggae, Ragga,
Dancehall and Revival music. DJ's from 4-PLAY
have also played on various radio stations over
the years.
4-PLAY have regular bookings for private
functions and promotional events including:

coach trips from East London to various
locations in

including teaming up with other promotional

from all
major cities in the UK.

* hosting
excursions to Holland for the Rotterdam
Carnival, including party nights in
Rotterdam and Amsterdam and

were one of the
first promotion teams to visit Rotterdam
Carnival in the early 1990's and is now a
main promotional attraction.

* playing at
many of the UCL functions including Fresher
gigs and hosted weekly student/societies
party events.

* various
open live MIC sessions (singers, bands, MC'S
and spoken words) for local unsigned acts.

* hosting
Annual Fashion and Industry shows.
Residencies have included- Moonlighting Night
Club, Chocolate City, Night Moves Night Club and
Club Oasis in London.
London events have also included a 'Ladies
night only', hosting the infamous Hen party
night where a video tape recording of the event
was to be never seen!
They have also worked on the popular and
successful Theatre production of 'Cinderella'
and 'The Wiz' and regularly worked with
comedians, Jefferson and Whitfield on various
projects, including comedy nights and workshops
in the local community encouraging local people
to get involved.
One of their best promotional achievements
was the legendary Valentines 'Chocolate Box'
event held at the infamous Tyson Street in
Hackney. This event (hosted by a line up of top
DJs) was quoted 'one of the best Valentine parties ever'
and had one of the most original concept flyers
of it's time.
4-PLAY have gone on to join the management
agency group called 'The Cartel' who are known
to list the top DJs around, which has led to
many more bookings for elite functions.
4-PLAY continue to host private functions,
parties and events and have created a
promotional team called K.I.S.S. Promotions
(Keeping Intimate Sexual
Secrets).!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
